Dueling Grandpas

My co-workers are having an impromptu contest to see which of their grandfathers is the coolest. Jennifer's was married to Vivian Vance, the actress who played Ethel Mertz on "I Love Lucy". Rhonda's was a tailor in Denver who once measured Mae West.

I piped up with, "Mine couldn't read and he used to spit tobacco on the carpet because he didn't like his spitoon."

I win.

I should say so... Sounds like a guy I'd like to hang with! My Grandpa could be a contender... He's an ex-cowboy from Southern Alberta. When he's gone, he wants "Last of the Longriders" to be inscribed on his tombstone. Don't ask me what that means...
When he visited me in NY 15 years ago, he stayed around the corner from my place-- at The Chelsea Hotel. The chambermaids really loved him because he used to answer the door naked. Come to think of it, that's probably not that unusual an occurrence at that place.

Cool, Cam! That sounds like another play or screenplay right there -- you could call it "Last of the Longriders". Great title! I know I would go see that play/movie. Hilarious about the Chelsea Hotel -- probably it's weird there if people DON'T answer the door naked!
